Thanks for stopping by!  I'm Joseph Mckeown, a long serving member of the NET team at I-Square Education, where I am responsible for the development and instruction of our mainstream reading and writing programs.  My career in English education originated from teaching Montessori classes in my home country of Ireland; and my formal teacher's training led me to teach in both primary and secondary level schools.  In Hong Kong, where I have served for six years, I endeavour to focus on providing my students with a language skill “headstart” that will enable them to communicate with confidence in any arena.  I believe that being an educator is a vocation and it is with this personal dedication that I tend to the needs of my students.

B.A.(Hons)
Qualified Instructor for IPA (International Phonetic Alphabets) in Hong Kong

My name is Carrie Yao and all my students call me Auntie Carrie.  I was brought up in Hong Kong and attended McGill University in Canada, majoring in History of Art.  After being a stay-home mom for years, I was delighted to embark on a teaching career and have the opportunity to apply what I taught my daughters to other children.  I was trained by Dr. Esther Lai in IPA which is the most logical and systematic approach to proper pronunciation of all languages.  I also teach phonics, reading and comprehension.  Seeing my students develop a life-long enjoyment in reading and succeed in school are my greatest joy.

Hello, my name is Matthew Liddell.  I am from Newcastle in the United Kingdom.  I have been teaching in Hong Kong for 3 years now and have many great experiences that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Being able to teach children is truly a blessing and I truly find being a teacher a great honour and pleasure. Building relationships with my students is extremely important in my classes so I can have a greater impact on improving on their education and also on life skills such as social interaction and confidence.

TESOL/ TEFL Qualification
Hello, my name is Mark Doyle from Glasgow, UK.  I have been teaching English in Hong Kong for more than 4 years and, in that time, have gained invaluable experience in educating young people at every level: kindergarten, primary, secondary and IB diploma. I  try to promote the study of the English as a valuable and enjoyable activity through lessons which are stimulating and fun but with clear learning objectives. At I-Square, we provide a wonderful environment and dedicated courses to help students improve their English while developing the social skills required to succeed in today’s world.

Arizona State University
B.A. in Creative Writing

TEFL Qualification
Hello!  My name's Ryan.  I’m from a place called Phoenix, Arizona in the good old U.S. of America.  Most of you have probably never heard of it.  It’s very hot, mostly desert, and neighbors the great golden state of California.  I went to Arizona State University and studied English Literature and Creative Writing.  Literature and Creative Writing have always been passions of mine since I was a teenager and being able to teach them, to instill the same passion for reading and writing in my students, is the greatest profession I could ever imagine!  In 2009 I graduated from ASU and moved to China to teach English.  After 1½ years of teaching English in China, I moved to Hong Kong and have been living and teaching  English ever since.  Teaching English in Hong Kong/China has been an invaluable experience thus far that has helped me develop and grow as an educator and person.

Robyn Lo
An Experienced LAMDA Trainer
Hi, my name is Robyn Lo.  I have received speech and drama training since an early age, and have been awarded Distinction in PCertLAM by The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. It is my passion to work with children, and I have been teaching elocution, public speaking and drama for over ten years.
It is a great joy to see young people grow in confidence to perform in front of an audience. Through a fun learning environment and a systematic approach, learners are able to perform their repertoires with sound understanding, and develop their critical thinking skills to write and deliver their own speeches.
Over the years, I’m proud to see the outstanding achievement of my students in the LAMDA Examinations, the annual Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival and the HKFYG Standard Chartered HK English Public Speaking Contest.

I'm Brijeet Kaur.  I enjoy teaching young children as they always give me the energy to work as an English teacher.  I like to find ways through games and activities to arouse my students' interests to learn English.  Learning English is FUN!  Don't be shy, speak up and try to use English as much as possible in your daily life.
